Illinois approved sponsor
High-quality learning for the work that matters.
We're proud to announce that H.E.L.P. LLC is now an Illinois-approved Psychologist CE Sponsor (License #268.010265), authorized to provide high-quality continuing education for licensed psychologists across the state.
Thanks to crossover recognition under Illinois state rules, our CE sponsor status extends even further:
Licensed Social Workers (LSWs/LCSWs): The state Social Work Board automatically accepts CE credits from IDFPR-approved Clinical Psychologist CE Sponsors per the Illinois Administrative Code.
Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs/LCPCs): The Professional Counselor and Clinical Professional Counselor Licensing Act rules allow licensed counselors to earn CEUs from crossover boards, meaning our programs qualify for your license renewal too.
No extra hoops, no separate applications.

Meet your sponsor
Our CE programs are sponsored under the leadership of Dr. Karen McCurtis Witherspoon, a licensed psychologist with nearly 25 years of clinical and academic experience.
Dr. Witherspoon holds the faculty rank of Professor in the Department of Psychology at Chicago State University — a CACREP-accredited institution — where she has served as the past Counseling Graduate Program Director and Associate Director of the Center for Urban Mental Health Research.
Her work has been funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, and her clinical specialization includes testing and assessment, survey research methods, scale development, and program evaluation.
As the Managing Member of H.E.L.P. LLC, Dr. Witherspoon brings a depth of experience in culturally responsive consultation, training, and psychological services that directly informs every CE program we offer.
Attendance verification & CE credit
We take CE credit integrity seriously. H.E.L.P. LLC uses a structured, multi-step process to accurately record and verify participant attendance for all continuing education workshops — ensuring compliance with professional standards and providing clear documentation for participants and regulatory bodies.
01
All participants register in advance through our online system. Each registrant provides their full name, license type, license number (if applicable), email address, and organizational affiliation. This information generates a preliminary attendance roster.
02
In-person workshops: Participants sign a physical attendance sheet upon arrival. Staff verify identity using the registration roster.
Virtual workshops: Participants log in using their full name. Attendance is verified through the platform's participant log and cross-checked with registration information.
03
Instructors or designated staff monitor participant presence throughout the session.
For virtual programs, the platform's activity log (join/leave times) verifies continuous attendance. For in-person programs, staff conduct periodic visual attendance checks.
Upon successful completion, participants receive a CE certificate documenting their credits earned.
